  • The Meaning of our Names

After you read this post you'll know what your name means, or at least where it comes from - starting from Grandpa Keith (and Grandma Marti of course) down to his kids to their kids. If you see your name and only see where it came from it means it came from there, but it has no meaning. If you don't see your name, don't think I've forgotten you, just some names don't have meanings. Sorry if I spelled your name wrong too, I did my best!!! Keith= (Scottish) Martha=(Aramaic) a lady...

  • Fishing Pros

Well it looks like Grandpa Keith’s training has paid off. The girls did great in a recent regional fishing tournament and were featured in Field & Stream magazine. Congratulations on the fine and remarkably similar catches!

  • Bear Necessities

Alice had a tap dancing recital last Saturday.  Like the silly, hormonal pregnant mess that I was...I cried happy tears.  She had a great time and you can see on her face that she's enjoying herself.  Thanks to Brad and Brittney who came up for the show.  That made her feel really special.  By the way, they dance to the song Bear Necessities from the Disney film The Jungle Book.  Their costumes are supposed to be bears.

  • And big pointy ears!

Here’s a video from a few years ago (January 2005). Claire was 4 and Helen was 3. We had just pulled up to the house and found a dog running alone in the street. I went inside to call the number on his collar and the family waited with the dog in the car. We were able to return the dog to its owner and once again I narrowly escaped pet ownership.

  • Great Instructions

I just wanted to let everyone know that Brad and I made it back to VA safely. On my drive home I encountered one major accident on I-40 in Arkansas. While stopped on the interstate I came across this semi-truck and wanted to share some insite to the English lanuage with all. I snapped this pic with the camera on my phone. Don't worry, the traffic was at a standstill for about an hour so I wasn't being one of the crazy do everything while I am driving drivers. Don't worry I will post pics...

  • June Birthdays

Four fabulous family faves have birthdays in June! We started with our handsome, talented, and brilliant Henry who celebrated his 8th birthday on June 6. We're looking forward to his baptism in a few days. Next, "the girl" celebrated a milestone birthday looking far too young and beautiful for anyone to notice that she recently swallowed a Volkswagon. We end this month's celebrations with two more milestone birthdays - both on the 23rd. Sweet, lovely, and talented Jane turns 12...

  • Happy Birthday Jenny!

I called Jenny a few days ago to wish her a happy birthday. She had just returned home from a date with Justin and some friends. Looks like my wish worked. Happy birthday Jenny. P.S. Does it count if we reuse the happy birthday picture from a couple years ago?

  • Our Family Walk.

Last Sunday Mom had a great idea "Let's go for a walk." Since it was about a 100 degrees outside for the last couple days, she said that we should go after we ate dinner when the heat cooled off a little bit. Around 6:30, we popped into the car faster than popcorn and drove to the park. We still had a lot of energy left so we went to an hotel/apartment complex/strip mall combo area with plenty shaded sidewalks and a beautiful pond in the middle of it. We brought chips and a couple of...

  • Updated News on Oscar/OliviaTaylor (best known as "our turtle for two and a half days")

Two weeks ago when we found a turtle, Grandpa Keith said that he/she was a box turtle because (based in our poor description) his/her shell was so high, and he suggested we should return the animal to its natural habitat, either a pond or a creek in any park around the city. We were glad to find out what kind of turtle it was, and of course Daddy agreed on the spot about to free him/her. But what we didn't know was that box turtles don't swim. After we let him/her go later that week, I searched...

  • Oscar/Olivia Taylor, Our Turtle

A couple weeks ago, on a Wednesday, Mom found a turtle. She was about to pull out of a parking lot of a strip mall onto the main road when she saw a turtle crossing the road. She thought that he would go in his shell or turn around when she moved a little closer. But when she got closer, the turtle just kept moving. Mom thought that if he kept moving, he would get ran over by her or someone else. So she took him in the car and drove home. She built a cage from our patio furniture in our backyard...

  • Lego World.

The other day we went to the mall and they have opened a new Lego store. That reminded me: I have a Lego set! I forgot about it three minutes later, when we went to Build-a-Bear on the next level. I didn't remember it until today. I grabbed my dusty collection and spent a good three hours and something minutes on my new masterpiece:

  • Just to let you know...

On June 5th, our summer vacation began down here in Plano. That was the last day of school. Not only that, but it was early release!!! I waited all of the school year to finally get my three month break. Once the bell rang for the end of school, I sprinted out of that place. I waited forever for this moment. I then waited forever to have Mom pick Helen and I up from the last day of school. One forever later, Mom picked us up. We skedaddled to the car, and told Mom to step on it. Mom looked at me...

  • 2 Whole Minutes!!!

So as you know I love to workout and stay somewhat in shape. I have made several post about the things that I have done over the years. Well nothing has changed about me. While in in Oklahoma City I found this work out group called Operation Boot Camp. They meet daily at a local park early in the morning. So I thought what a great way to get me out of bed and get my day started while I wait for Brad. We started the camp by doing a PT test 3 weeks ago. Now the camp is supposed to run for 4 weeks,...
