Uploading Multiple Files/Pictures

If you have a group of pictures and/or files you want to upload to your media gallery on this site, do the following:

  • Go to the Control Panel
  • Under "Manage my Media Galleries" click on "Review Files"
  • Click on Quick Upload
  • Find Select Files...
  • Navigate to the folder where your pictures/files are stored... hold CTRL and click to select multiple files, or CTRL-A to select all files in the folder.
  • Click Open
  • Click Save

Give it a try next time your family has a baby and folks want to see pictures.

it's not working very well for me.  i selected several pictures and it only uploaded 4.  tried again and it uploaded none.  the last time it only uploaded 1.  better than one at a time i guess.

Hmm... did you uncheck the "I'm retarded" setting?

Greg just used the same process to upload the Adam pictures - wonder if he had any of the same problems.  Also, remember when we were using Chiwi's Gallery Manager with an older version of Community Server - there was an issue where multiple uploads would sometimes fail if the picture file sizes were really large.  You may want to try downsizing them a bit and see if that helps.

Greg says he didn't have any problems uploading his pics.  I think it's a file size issue.  I looked at this picture:

and noticed it's 3.3 megabytes big.  The resolution and/or dimensions are really high, probably due to the high dollar camera you're using for taking such pictures.  That works great if I want to print a 4 foot poster print, but for general web distribution you should reduce the size.  Try setting the dpi to 72 and dimensions to somewhere around 1600 x 1200 or 1024 x 768.
