Brian, I challenge you! Eschez or die!

What say you Brian?  In front of both people who visit this site, I challenge you to a high stakes game of "eschez."  The stakes, you ask?

  1. Bragging rights (to the winner, in case you weren't sure)
  2. Your manhood (figuratively speaking)
  3. Loser does 100 push-ups, has to be filmed and posted on this site.

The rules:

  1. No cheating

You up for it?  Good, then I say e4!

UPDATE: "Eschez" is a word Brian made up.  He thinks it's Spanish for chess, as in (with Antonio Banderas accent): "Would you like to play [dramatic pause] eschez?"

Doug needs the exercise.  Go ahead, Brian.  Win this match and do us a favor, PLEASE!

Hmm, I wonder if baby Andrew can sit still on his Dad's back (to add more drama to the push-ups demo) while I'm filming the event...  I'm off to get the camera ready.  :)

I'd like to see Doug squeeze out ten push-ups.

You must be sucking the lead paint off your chinese made chess pieces.  You're going down, funny boy.

bishop to h4.  I don't have a chess program installed to track notation, so I just make it up.  Let me know if my moves look illegal or even just ill-advised.  I'm sure it's just a problem of reading the notation upside-down.

You have no bishop that can move to h4.  This is not going to go well for you.  Download and install ECTool - even if you don't use the e-mail portion of it, it's still a great program to keep track of your games.

Come on Brian, keep it moving!

Brian, it's been 17 days.  You remind me of Grandpa Jessie, "I'd rather owe it to you than cheat you out of it."

Our game has resumed, and it's starting to get ugly.  Brian made an early error on move 6, costing him a rook on move 8.  However it's still close.  Well as close as can be expected anyway.  The graphic has been updated with the current game state.

I've updated the image in this post to reflect the current state of the game.  For those of you following along:

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bb5 d5 5.Nxe5 dxe4 6.Nxc6 bxc6 7.Bxc6+ Bd7 8.Bxa8 Qxa8 9.d3 Bb4 10.O-O O-O 11.dxe4 Nxe4 12.Qxd7 Qd8 13.Qxd8 Rxd8 14.Nxe4 f5 15.c3 *

Brian (black) brought his pawn up to threaten my knight.  I responded by threatening his bishop.  He's already down in material, so would a trade be wise now?  I think not.  But since when has Brian been making wise moves in this game?
