Helen was asked by her teacher to complete a school assignment by answering some simple questions. Miss Walker listed for her some problems and it was up to our girl to find a good solution to them. She sure found the most honest and “appropriate” way to deliver a piece of her mind:

My Solutions, by Helen Taylor
P: Tim wants to learn more about what sharks eat.
S: DUH!!! Humans of course. But he can look it up on the Internet too.
P: Ken couldn’t find last night’s homework in his backpack.
S: He can ask the teacher for another one, two weeks later. With so many kids around she’d forget about yours anyway.
P: Bonnie was scared to swim and doesn’t want to go to the pool party.
S: Bonnie can just go to the party for the food. Eating good helps to forget.
P: Mathew doesn’t have enough money for a new video game.
S: He can wait for Christmas and ask Santa to give it to him.
I wonder how good our world would be with 7 year olds for our life counselors. Speaking of advisors, the other day I asked Rachel what she would do to help others who don't have very much. Her witty advise was, "Break my piggy bank and give all my pennies out to the less money-ers." I told her that was very nice of her. She replied, "Because we cannot believe what someone kept saying on tv - that everyone will be rich, right? That is a lie!" I think she's still campaigning for Mr. McCain. Go figure.
Maybe four year olds can fix all our sorrows by giving away their point of view. It's worth a try!
