  • Waiting for Santa

My mom and dad took us to see Santa's arrival and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Allen (which is about 5 minutes away from Plano where we live). It was really cold but we enjoyed very much all the planned activities around it: we had a few too many cups of hot cocoa, cookies handed out by no other than Mrs. Santa Claus, sang silly texans songs, and to warm up a bit, we stayed put in front of an stage where the tree lighting countdown was about to happen . Here are some pictures of the...

  • October Surprise

Jenny came to town for conference weekend. She knitted some hats for the girls while we listened to the Good News from Salt Lake. Andrew then used one of the hats to hold up a local 7-Eleven.
  • Fall Festival at the Arboretum

Now that it's not a billion degrees outside we took the kids to spend a Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum. It is really an amazing place. We brought a picnic and spent hours exploring the many gardens, pumpkin displays, the pioneer village and more. Last year at this time we went with Jeff and Meredith's family. This year, although it was tough, we managed to still have a good time. When I stroll through this place I like to imagine it's my private backyard attached to my multi...

  • "Why do we have a belly button, Mommy?"

For the past several days Rachel has been very concerned about belly-buttons. She spent lots of time gazing at her mid-section over the weekend. I caught her giggling over what looks like her "white, wet raisin... you know, when you put it on milk and it grows bigger!" She came up with a few good explanations by herself. Well, that's "good" in 4-year old terms! She went through the what, when, where, how questions, but kept getting stuck on the why... "Why do we need...

  • While Grandma Marti was away...

Last Friday our Grandma went to visit great Grandpa Jessie in Illinois. As soon she left, we quickly came to the rescue. It wasn't a happy situation being left behind so we dutifully called Grandpa Keith to check on him... And check on his our plans for the weekend. This is how it went: Hi, how are you, Grandpa? "Good" What are you going to do when Grandma's gone? "Not much" pause for two seconds and an half "Want to come and have a party" Well, we're in...
  • Plane at the Park

We've been saving for a while and finally bought our my very own foam airplane. We took turns throwing it, but since I really got the toy for me I ended up doing most of the throwing while the kids did the running. The girls said "Daddy's making such a big effort, lets help him." They thought they were doing me a favor by doing the exercises themselves. Lucky me! Click here for some fun pictures.

  • IT'S OFFICIAL: We're Teenie Weenies!

For a few years now, my Grandpa Keith has told me about a incredible living world in the backyard of great-Grandpa Earl's house. His Dad used to tell these tales to him and his siblings when they were little kids. After exchanging a few letters with Grandpa Earl, he sent me stories of the Teenie Weenie people, their daily lives and of course, their amazing adventures. It's all about how little people can survive in such a big world, with lawn mowers and human shoes all over. Well, today it's...

  • Singing Christmas Morning

We took a bunch of video clips during our Christmas vacation to Keith and Marti's house with Justin and Jenny's family, but haven't had a chance to edit & post any of them. I finally found some software that works well with the camera's video file format, so here's the first of the series. This clip shows Claire, Helen, Rachel and Alice on Christmas morning singing a few songs before opening presents. I had brought them over in front of the tree to snap a few pictures in their...

  • Happy 4th Rachel Day

Rachel was born 4 years ago today. It was a Sunday. We knew it was time to go and called Keith and Marti. They came over and took Claire and Helen off our hands so I could run Clyde down to the hospital. Clyde was in a lot of pain: labor, headaches, nausea - the works. Half-way there she screamed "pull over!" I stopped and she Messed with Texas, all over the side of the road. She couldn't even sit up anymore and "asked" me to move the bags up front so she could lie down in...

  • Andrew Taylor, Baby

Clyde loves me. She got the kids all dressed up, hauled them over to the photographer, fought through a full photo session - all without my knowledge! I came home from work one day to find proofs on the counter. It was a photo session for Andrew, but you can't miss an opportunity to get the girls all pinked up too. Hope you enjoy the pictures !

Here are some pictures we took of a recent trip to the park. The girls had fun while we tried to keep them from stumbling into the water with every uncoordinated toss of the bread.
