Today my brother-in-law Seth and I drove 30 off-road miles through the Santa Ana mountains to Santiago Peak, the highest point in Orange County.

You can download the GPS data of our trail and view it in 3D by first making sure you have Google Earth installed on your computer, and then saving this .gpx file on your desktop.  Open the .gpx file with Google Earth.

Here's a few pictures of the family on a cloudy morning in July 2007 at Newport Beach, just a few minutes from home.

Sarah turned one year old in August, 2007.  Her grandparents from Bakersfield and her Uncle Seth from Laguna Beach converged to observe the solemn occasion.  Gifts and telegrams came from as far as Texas.

In early August 2007, Erin and I drove up the coast to San Francisco.  We stopped in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle, Monterey, Redwoods State Park, San Francisco, my grandparents' home in Sacramento, and Erin's grandparents' home in Bakersfield.  We were gone for four days.  I did her hair.  We had a great time.  Erin loves staying in hotels.
